Easyguard Roof Edge Protection System
Easyguard is a system of permanent freestanding handrails which can be used for both retrofit and new build projects. Its non-penetrative design removes the requirement for weatherproofing around posts and eliminates the risk of future leaks often associated with penetrative systems. Weatherproofing costs are therefore avoided in the installation of the system.
The Easyguard system is flat footed which means it can minimse any trip hazard by sliding underneath any obstructions that may be present on the rooftop.
Other features include;
- Galvanised finish with options for powder coating
- Adjustable by up to 250mm
- Easyguard is ideal for perimeter handrailing or for designation of access ways (escape routes etc).
- Baseplate design with foam infill reduces heat transfer to the roof membrane to reduce membrane degradation
It is an ideal system for flat roof edge protection.

Easyguard Product Specification:
- Easyguard Permanent Free Standing Handrails are fully tested to Health and Safety Specialist Report 15,Sept 1988, handrails, maintenance uses only, BS6399 buildings and loads.
- They are fully galvanised to BS/EN 1461 1999.
- All base plates are fitted with bonded ribbed rubber mat with EPDM foam in-fill to reduce heat transference onto roof membranes, which can lead to roof membrane degradation.
- The flat base plate – reduces the trip hazard and improves point loading onto roofs.
- All fittings used on systems are by Interclamp® Ltd and are composed of heavy-duty malleable cast iron with stainless steel grub screws, for extended life. (also used on fixed handrails)
- All grub screws in base plates used for adjustment of the posts and other fixings into metalwork are A2 stainless steel.
- The system is installed with 250mm of adjustment on each leg to allow the rails to be levelled with the up-stand or parapet.
- The heavy-duty base plate is designed to be easily removed for access to the roof membrane, for maintenance or repair, without the need to dismantle sections of rail. The major advantage of this is that - the roof remains guarded at all times
- Leg assemblies are at a maximum of 2m centres.
- The system can be installed in reverse for unobstructed walkways.
- The system can be terminated with either counterweights or 2m return ends, where wall fixings cannot be used.
- Powder coating over galvanising, includes Mordant wash treatment, followed by rinse, then powder coating to ensure that the coating sticks and the system is still corrosion resistant.
